lookin for wood/coal in fla

im looking for a good place to get wood or lump charcoal in either south fla (ft lauderdale) ,orlando or tampa area.going upstate to see the mouse and such and i figured an unplanned

unauthorized stop would be alright.

any help would be greatly appreciated by my neighbors who only come out when there is smoke!!!!

Check with some of the orchorids in the area........ My folks are in Fl. and my dad gets citrus tree wood that he uses for smoking... Not sure if its free or costs him.... But worth a stop....

can you smoke w/avocado trees. When I was down for clean up after h/andrew, the avocado groves were in bad shape. just wonering if it would work for smoking?????

There are plenty of groves in florida and they cull trees every year. Theres one grove near W.P.B. That calls me every spring and I get all the ctris I can use. Also Up the east coast after the Huricanes of the past years there a lot of wood available you just got to go find it.

In Tampa, a place on Hillsborogh Avenue sells Picnic Brand lump for $7.50 for a 15 lb bag. Number 9 on the rankings list.

Get the Royal Oak at Walmart, comes highly reccommended. For wood, call tree trimming services or look in the paper. If you do plan on trying to get citrus wood, contact the grove first! Do not just stop on the side of the road ans start collecting, you're likely to get shot or attacked by dogs.
