Long Island NY... May have found affordable packers!

I'm on the email list for Main Street Meats in Farmingdale, NY and they are advertising choice and prime briskets for 3.99 a pound. Not sure why they would be the same price, but even for choice, that's a great price around here. I bought some steaks their last weekend and was taking with one of the butchers and he said they carry whole
Briskets and that they were prime beef for 5.99 a pound. A little pricey for my maiden voyage with a brisket but this deal might convince me to give it a shot in my new MES. Apparently they are going to begin smoking meats at the shop so maybe they will regularly carry bbq meats they normally wouldn't. Packers, beef ribs, etc.

That's the going price here. Can you believe I have never cooked a packer yet? I need to give it a shot.

It's just not popular here so the prices are usually 5.99 per pound for flats that have no fat cap to speak of. For 3.99 I am going to have to give it a whirl. Especially if my AMNPS can give me almost 11 hours of smoke, I won't have to stay up all night to do it.

Your AMNPS will serve you well. I have the dust, pellet, 6 and 12 inch tube.
