Wifey found some london broil  at a good price and requested it for dinner tonight. So who am I to say no? Seasoned it up with some garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and a little smoked Hungarian paprika. Put it in the fridge for four hours and just took it out. Firing up the king griller as I type. I'll be using royal oak lump and two pieces of oak for some subtle smoke. Pics to follow.

Got the akorn to temp slapped on the london broil and some bell peppers Tracey prepped early in the morning. God bless her heart she was trying to save me some time and effort by baking them in the oven this morning. So I merely transferred them from the bowl they were in to an aluminum loaf pan. After I get everything all set on the akorn I sat down and had a Sam Adams White Christmas. A few minutes later I flipped the steak and rearranged the peppers. Only to find out Tracey slipped a couple of tabasco peppers in there. I was pleasantly surprised, she knows I love the heat. I bring everything in and let the steak rest while we ate our salads. Sliced it up and realized I let the london broil get a little past where I like it. Still tasted amazing but I like it a little more rare. Enjoy the pics.

Thanks bmudd. You know for a cheaper cut of meat I like it a lot. I would have pulled it off the heat a few minutes earlier, but my beagle Ruby wanted to play. She kept bringing me her squeaky toy and beg me to throw it for her. So I kind of lost track of time.

I'd be interested to hear how some of you like to season your LB's.

I season most the same way. Just a little SPOG and maybe some paprika.

That sounds interesting. I might have to give that a go at some point. How would you season it to go with that?
SPOG and then zest a medium sized orange and rub that in too. My friend brushes it with a mixture of Worcestershire sauce and orange juice, then rubs the zest in. His is good but I prefer just a touch of orange to complement the great taste of the steak.

Disco

Nice and simple. I like that.
