Well first thanks to all for such warm welcome! Here I sit outside down here in GA, smoker fired up , laptop blazing, butts a roasting, chickens browning, and yes , sausage is going too. Red oak, with a touch of pecan. I have to admit something here, I have a small pecan orchard so pecan wood is very easy to come by, and different types of pecan woods will produce different taste. Any way, i think the entire neighbor hood is starting to see the smoke, they'll be here before nightfall!
Have a good one...I got a miller chill here in the ice bucket for ya.....

I've been sitting outside by the fire pit enjoying the cool weather this evening
Saw a few deer and some quail............what a beautiful day!

Welcome to the SMF. You'll notice many responses from our friendly and helpful membership. If you have access to red oak, you're a luck man. That wood is hard to find in So. Cal., but it's great for using on steaks, Tri Tip and such. have a great week!

Sounds like life is good your way. Good luck with it and enjoy!

Welcome aboard SmokeyCrow! Sounds like you have it all together, life don't get no better than that!
