Hi All Any one use either of these two Legg's bratwurst blends..Which was better? Best place to buy them?

I got a grinder & stuffer looking to make bratwurst like I had in Germany many years ago..Tried a few premix's packages already didn't come close to what I was looking for.

Thanks Dan

PS E-mailed Legg's their answer was 104.

I've used the 104 in the past. Thought it was okay but not great. Haven't been to Germany so I can't give you a comparison in taste. I'm more used to the Sheboygan style of brats. Another place to check out is PS Seasonings. They have a wide assortment of different brat seasoning blends.

While I can't comment on the Legg's Seasoning specifically, check out the following post for a lot of good talk about Bratwurst.

Bratwurst Seasoning HELP!!!

When I think of a German brat, I think of the following, which is based off biemer19's recipe from the above stated post, along with your recommendation for adding some onion (plus some NFDM).

5 pounds Pork Butt

3 Tablespoons Salt

1 Tablespoon Sugar

2 teaspoons grated nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon coriander

1/4 teaspoon celery seed

1 Tablespoon ground black pepper

1/8 teaspoon ground marjoram

2 teaspoons dried ginger

2 Tablespoon dried minced onion

1 cup NFDM

And if you're just looking for a killer bratwurst recipe, check out Shooter Rick's Attitude Brats.  I like to sub beer for the water and NFDM for the soy protein.  Awesome.
