Hey, guys. I'm Jered. Originally from California, but living in Virginia because of the navy.
Just wanted to get on here and say hi.
For a few years, I had an electric smoker that produced smoked meat. I could never really call is barbeque. It didn't have the same flavor, texture, bark... of what I always had from barbeque. I rarely ever even used it because it was such a disappointment. When I moved in July, I put the smoker on the street corner in the neighborhood. Sure enough, about 5 minutes later, it was gone.
My mother in law decided to get me a char griller duo with the side fire box for my birthday when we moved. I know it's not the best smoker (sub-par to some), but it has changed my life. I love smoking now. Maybe I just love to sit and tend the fire for hours. I don't know. All I know is, I can make some amazing meat.
I look foreword to learning all I can from you guys. I've already learned some of my own tricks.

Good morning and welcome to the forum from another hot and humid September day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web.   Lots of great people with tons of information on just about everything.
