I don't know if it's every Kroger but I just got this one at the one by my house in Centerville, Ohio. I may go back and get more to put in the freezer.
Dillons had a sale on loins last weekend for $1.99/lb. I picked up a nice 5 lb one for about $10 & stuck it in the freezer for a future cook. Before that they had ribs for $1.99, I picked up a couple racks & cooked... 2 days ago they had pork butts on sale for $1.99/lb... I had to fight the urge to buy one of those to, it seems they've caught on to my weakness... hehe
. I noticed the 'sell by date' was close and they reduced it , but it's still good . Smoke that beauty and enjoy the Pig in it's "Glory" . Try either JJ's finishing sauce , or Soflaquer's Finishing sauce.
Yeah I noticed that sell by date. But I figure that's 2 weeks away. Plus if I get another one to freeze it will be ok. Trust me it won't stay in the freezer too long. I'll have to look up those finishing sauces.
Now you have me curious about the bacon stuff. I'll have to do some research about that.
