Thank you to the Forum. The kerosene flavor issue has been solved ........ simply too much smoke in the smoker for too long a time. Solved by full venting from the top of the smoker and being smarter about how many chips to introduce at one time. Thank you to all of the respondents who truly helped with the problem.
