Hey fellas(and crafty ladies),
I'm a novice smoker from Eastern Oregon, my current setup is a Brinkman Smoke pit, I removed the side barrel set it on the ground and ducted it back into the main compartment. It is in my carport so I sealed it with high heat RTV and ducted it out of my garage. So far it works pretty well, I use a hotplate and wood pellets in a metal bowl for my smoke method. And a hotplate in the main chamber to regulate the temperature.
I'm looking forward to acquiring some great advise and techniques.

Thanks for the warm welcome,I'll get some photos of my rig up when I get it cleared up, I've been in D.C. the last four months for work and the old lady made good use of the area surrounding my smoker for storage.
