Hello folks,

Just wanted to introduce myself, I've been following the forum for a while now and decided to join up. Hopefully, I can get some tips from all the veterans out there to get me smoking like a pro one day.

A little about me, I live in Maryland along the Chesapeake Bay, hence the name. I've been smoking meat and fish on and off for several years, but haven't been able to devote as much time as I'd like to learning the craft. I started with wood chips in a foil pack on a propane grill, moved on to a Bradley Original Smoker, then my buddy moved away and took it with him, and then I was given a Brinkman Gourmet Electric Smoker, which I've been using half-heartedly for a few years.

I obtained an old 50's-ish refrigerator about three years ago with the intention of converting it to a smoker and that's what brought me here. It's still sitting in the garage basically untouched other than being gutted. Unfortunately, I have only basic knowledge when it comes to electrical work and machining and I do not have access to much equipment...plus, I have a very limited budget.

With that being said I hope I can pump you all for information on how a guy like me with limited skills, but the willingness to learn and try, can get that fridge converted and smoking.

Thanks,

Chris
