I am from Lubbock, TX, born and raised just outside of Lubbock.  I grew up a diehard Texas Longhorn, so you can imagine the torture i had to endure living in red raider country.  I am just getting started in smoking.  I have always had a love for cooking, chef wannabe. I enrolled at the Texas Culinary Academy but quickly changed my mind to stay home with my wife and kids.  As many of you, from what I've read, I am starting out with a modified ECB, it has been good to me so far. I have only about 10 smokes under my belt. I am also a musician, as you can tell from my name.  As with sports and music, smoking has become an obsession and I crave new information and techniques.  I look forward to finding new posts and greatly appreciate the information supplied on this site.

Welcome to the SMF...great place to pick up loads of knowledge. I'm sure most here will recommend you take the free e-course offered to get started. The search bar below the banner is another great tool to use for ANY info you are looking for on a particular subject. Just type in what you're looking for and normally 30 pages will show up, many posts with Q/view attached. I also started with an ECB and didn't realize how much I was doing incorrectly until coming here. Good luck smoking and looking forward to some Q/view from you.

Welcome to SMF. There are a lot of very friendly & knowledgeable folks here to help you. I urge you to sign up for the free E-course. It will give you the basics, & even if you are an experienced smoker you may learn something new. Then start asking questions. Good luck & glad to have you aboard. Don't forget we all love Qview!
