Hello all.  Newbie joining from Sharon, MA.  Just ordered an MES 30" and the AMNPS Package #3 and can't wait to start smoking for more than 4-5 months of the year (previously used a Brinkmann Bullet charcoal smoker which had terrible heat control).  Have been smoking for the last two years and have been pretty successful with pulled pork and chicken, but less so with brisket and ribs.  Look forward to joining the forum and using my new smoker and AMNPS.

First off welcome to SMF. You'll really like this place for there are a bunch of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking meat. Then if you have any questions you just post them here or yu can try in chat for a faster answer. If you are really new to all of this I would recommend that you look up and take the e-course. It is free and it will also give you the basics on smoking. So with all that said now go and get something to smoke.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes and look forward to posting some pics once the MES arrives and I get started!

BTW @GrayStratCat, given that you're from Coastal Carolina area, I'm guessing a Tar Heel fan?  If so, looking like a solid team this year and another weak year for the ACC outside of Duke/UNC.
