Hey Guys,
I live in Central New Jersey... have a cpl of friend that have smokers... always love grilling, but got the impulse to start smoking so i went out yesterday to Lowes and made an impulse buy. I went there in hopes of buying a Electric Masterbuilt... unfortunatley, they did not have those in stock, but carried a 30" MasterForge Electric Smoker, which I bought. I have seen the reviews, which are mixed at best... I did have it turn off on me once last night when i was making my ribs, but thats because i tripped my ground.... other than that i didnt seem to have any problems or issues... smoked my baby back ribs (first thing i have ever smoked) for about 5 hrs using a 2-2-1 type method and they came out amazingly tender and flavorful... a bit on the smokey side, but still great. I used a home made KC rub, that was heavy on the cayenne and chili, to give it a bit more of a kick.
I want to learn how to really smoke meats (ribs, pork butt, brisket, chicken, etc) and get that down before i start trying other things...
Heres my first try at baby back ribs... came out great.. im hooked.
