Costco has stopped ordering Packers since summer is over and do not plan on ordering more this year.  At least this is what the butcher told me at my local costco Last night.   Got me a fine 12lb packer at fareway last night for my camping smoke this weekend.  Gonna put her on at about 6pm for dinner on Saturday, no foil, and going with just salt and pepper for the rub.  Damn thing may not fit in my MES 30 but I will make it work.  The weekend will also consist of beer, pork spares, Ducths famous baked beans, ABT's, and lots of Hops and barley to marinate the so called pit master.

The Sam's and Walmarts around my area didn't order packers at all this year.  All they carried is flats.

Yeah they still have some nice flats at Costco, grabbed one of those for the freezer while I was there too.

Yeah, I've been to three Costco's around the Detroit area this summer and there were no Packers to be had. :( Thankfully we have enough decent butcher shops in the area.

I dont know about Costco but Walmart has packers here in Andover Minnesota area. Last time i looked they were 2.59lb. We have had pork butts, boneless pork loins, and pork ribs on sale all year. Reinhard

i can get a packer any day of the week at the local grocer. if i cant get one, then im driving 3hrs back home to texas and bringing back a wagon full. lol.

The Costco in Southlake Texas had prime grade packers last week. There are always plenty of packers but this was the first time I'd found prime.
