Just got done making a double batch of Jeff's BBQ sauce. I can't speak enough about how good this stuff is.

I have made many sauces that are good but I keep coming back to this one. Going to do a 9lb butt and some spares next weekend, just getting a jump on the sauces.

Glad you like it Bunk.. when I make that sauce I have to make extra 'cause the kids wanna put it on everything from scrambled eggs to dipping their chicken nuggets in it. Good luck on that butt this weekend[IMG]

My wife purchased Jeff's recipes for me as part of Christmas.  I love them!  Does anyone  have an idea how long I can keep the sauce in the fridge?  With it being only me and the wife (the boy is only 8 months old...not quite ready for bbq yet), we cannot finish a run of sauce in one session.  Thanks in advance, guys (and ladies)!

I have never made jeff's sauce and don't know what's in it so i would let him answer that question.

I have a BBQ sauce that I made last winter and I am still using it out of the fridge. It has the same kind of ingredients as Jeff's so I don't know why they would be any different as far as storage time. Or maybe I am in idiot and shouldn't be using it but I have never ran into issues with keeping my BBQ sauces in the fridge for great lengths of time as I can't think of anything in it that would spoil.

I'm pretty sure if you filter it good you could get that sauce to flow out of a baby bottle. [IMG]

I have made huge batches & it's been fine in the fridge for months. Just keep it in a bottle with a tight cap.

  9. Jeff's sauce is great. I usually need to jaze up most recipes but not on Jeff's bbq sause. He did a great job tweeking this recipe....[IMG]

If you are don't have lemons in the house you can substitute ReaLemon juice which is a one to one conversion mixture concentrate.

3-tablespoons of ReaLemon is = to approximately the juice of one medium regular lemon.

Also, you can use the prechopped minced garlic from Spice World. 1-teaspoon minced garlic = approximately 1 - clove garlic.

I have used Spice World garlic for years and it is simple a great time savor without sacrificing flavor. You can buy it at most grocery stores. I buy it in a large plastic jar at Sam's club....[IMG]

I usually use lemons but most of the time but often people don't have lemons sitting in the frig, unless of course you live in Florida......[IMG]

Friedboudinball  It does have some sugar, I actually substitute ideal sweetener that is made with Xylitol and some sucralose and a touch of maltodextrin.  I also sub some other sugar free alternatives, and I've never had a complaint from anyone eating it, and the sauce usually goes very fast.
