I live in Ohio. Have been smoking meats for a few years now. My son and I each have a gas and electric smoker. We recently processed 2 hogs for the first time ever. We cured and cold smoked the hams and bacon. Turned out pretty good for a couple of rookies. I also made beef jerky for the first time, using eye of round, very happy with that also.
