Jalapeno Jelly

    I came across this recipe today at Allrecipes.com. I'm not sure it's actually a jelly because it still contains the minced peppers (assuming I'm reading the recipe correctly). It seemed like just the sort of thing to serve with some good Q... maybe spread a little on some cornbread. [​IMG]

    Went through a jar of this on Turkey Day. Served on top of a cracker spread with cream cheese. You will be surprised how good this is!

    This is the right area for this thread.

    We make a version of this and like to eat it on your favorite cracker with cream cheese ...... yummy!

    Edit: Crap! ... Dingle had the same answer seconds before me ...

    That's the truth Dingle ... just remembered our recipe uses a wine base, which adds lots of flavor!

    Thanks for the link, I will give it a try. I know that cream cheese will go great with it, just as you mentioned.

    Ouch! ... I feel that I've just been spanked by Mom!

    So... here is my recipe;

    Squeezy’s Hot Pepper Wine Jelly


    2 C. red or white wine (I prefer red)
    3 C. white sugar
    ¾ C. fresh finely chopped jalapeño chilis
    1 tsp. of fresh Habanero or Serrano chilis or to taste (optional)
    1 bottle of liquid pectin 6 oz.

    Method

    Bring wine to a boil and hold a lit match to burn off alcohol.
    Add sugar & chilis and bring to second boil while stirring
    Simmer for several minutes, remove from heat and stir in pectin thoroughly
    Most of us have our own canning style, so I’m not repeating it here.
