Howdy all!

Long time bone and fin smoker from the great Northwest. I don't sport anything fancy just a well worn WSM and a big Chief that I use

for nothing but salmon. I use mostly Alder or Cherry wood as it's plentiful around here and it tastes good!  I'm a boat builder by trade and a woodworker by habit.

I was searching around looking for information on a MB 30" and I found this site. My lovely wife of 25 years figured I needed something "new" and gifted me a brand new one, I don't know if I should kiss her or kick her, but she means well. I have never used on of these units before and figured I might learn something from you boys here. What works, what doesn't, you know the drill.

I just took it out of the box yesterday, looks like a pretty nice unit, everything lined up, racks seem well made.

There seem to be a lot of good information here, so I'll put on my reading glasses on and have a go.

Thanks for having me, Eric

Good morning and welcome to the forum, from an  overcast and rainy looking  day here in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

Hi there Eric. There's a great wealth of knowledge here so don't be afraid to ask questions. The search feature works great and will provide you with days of reading. I don't know much about your new smoker but I do know there's a bunch of good information here.

Boat buildings a hobby for me and I hope to start my next boat soon. Probably will be a Scamp.
