In another post I told of my 16 year old son wanting a smoker of his own and the ribs he cooked on it after making some pit mods.

Well, I got home from work tonight and he jumped into the truck so we could go get him a brisket to cook. His great grandmother just had double knee replacement, and since a lot of family members will be at her place this weekend, he's doing a brisket for them. We won't be there due to other commitments, but we'll take it to his grandma tomorrow to take out there.

I'll get some finished pics tomorrow, I'm going to bed, HE can babysit his own pit this time! :yahoo:

CB if mine weren't all grown,I would trade the 5 of them for him.You are a lucky guy and your teaching is showing. What  wonderful memories yous are making together.

Thanks folks! I'm definitely a proud poppa!

Here are the finished pics of his brisket. Moist and very tender.

He sliced the flat, and chopped the point. I think we ate a pound of it before packing it up for his great grandmother and family!

Very nice looking brisket, Great smoke ring, looked moist and tender, cant ask for much better than that

Thanks Gary! I told him that he just got a major compliment from a fellow Texas smoker.

I've been bragging on him all day! :yahoo:

CB, tell your son that's a very nice smoke ! He should be proud & I know your proud ! My kids love the smoker, but they are a bit younger.... Tell him he knocked that smoke outta the park ! Thumbs Up

:points1: for him !

Hey CB   Let him know I really meant it. I am pretty critical when it comes to Brisket, and his was one of the best I've seen in a while. Good Job ! Must of had a good teacher.

You should be so proud of him.. Most kids his age waste their time with video games
