So i have been agonizing for weeks about this. The time has come and next Monday or Tuesday i will ordering a new smoker. I have been wanting a legit stick burner for years and now the Boss has approved to spend the required funds to get one. I also really want a reverse flow, so i have settled on Lang smoker. Specifically the Lang 36" patio model.  I need any input anyone can give me about the purchase before i buy....

1. should i spend the extra $300 to get the deluxe model? i know the warmer box looks really nice but i don't see a real need for it in my cooking. someone tell me a good reason to get it or not.

2. does anyone know if i can get the top rack as a slide out version instead of the fixed tray like shelf that comes standard?

3. Lang has told me that a small hole in the cook chamber comes standard now for probe thermometers. can anyone give me some advice to must have, customizations or options?

4. Anyone have any other advice dealing with the Lang company?

Anything else you want to add all input is welcome!

thanks!

Aaron,

I've had my Lang 36 for 4 months now.  I will try to give you some input to your questions.

1) The answer Ben Lang gave me "...if you are going to cook away from a kitchen (remote site) then get the deluxe for sides".

2) My top rack slides out...I think all 36"s now have a slide out top shelf.

3) I have one, comes standard, very convenient...but not necessary.

4) They bent over backwards to get my unit to me fast.  The delivery guy (Mr. Smith) explained setup, seasoning, and cleanup

    on my 36"

I love mine.  I'm positive you will love your's too.
