i read about a DYI coffee can charcoal start and it sounded easy to make. But then i started reading about how some cans have plastic coatings on the inside or are coated in tin or w/e, and then part of making the starter involves coat hangers which means brass most likely. So i have no idea if any of that applies to can's made today, i don't know what they are made of, basically i don't know anything.
so long story short is it safe? or will toxic fumes be given off and coating the grill and air around me ect ect?
also i kind of have the same question about making a little smoke box for wood chips, ive been wrapping them in aluminum foils, so i wanted to make a little can out of a soup can or something to put near or on the coals, so same question really, any toxic fumes?
