Greetings Everyone,

My name is Helen and I have never smoked anything yet. Nor do I have a smoker--but I am looking for one.

I live in Toronto, Canada.

Hello Helen

You'll find a wealth of info and good folks here.  I wish you good times and good Que as you learn.

Welcome to the board, Helen! Who will you be smoking for, how many people? Do you want to burn wood and charcoal, or have more of a set-and-forget like electric or propane?

Welcome from SC, Helen. This is a great site with some really good folks who are always eager to share their ideas and tips. All you have to do is ask and keep reading. When we can see some answers to BlueWhisper's questions, we will be able to make suggestions on cookers.

Good luck on your cooker decision and good smokin', Joe.

Tnx! I am mostly interested in smoking fish. And maybe, if I am so lucky to learn sausage making, smoking those. So now my main priority is to figure out which to buy. Electrical sounds safer but I will have to do my research 1st. I assume there are threads here that explain the differences.
