Hi, my name is Mike Blake from Murfreesboro, TN. I am just getting a new WSM smoker and want to learn all I can from you folks. I do have one question to start with. I have seen a number of seal or gasket kits advertised to help control the heat in smokers. Are there kits necessary/advisable for the WSM smoker. Thanks for reading and I look forward to the journey.

Welcome Mike, glad ya joined us ! You'll really like that WSM, I have an 18.5" & they are sure good smokers.... The newer WSM's have a hole on the side where your probe fits thru without any mods.... Mine is an older one without any mods & still works great. Enjoy the new toy !

Welcome from Canada, Mike.

I don't own a WSM but I suggest you do a search of WSM and gasket in the search bar.

I look forward to your posts.
