Hi all!  My name is Steve and I'm looking forward to learning from all of you.  I live in Southeast Texas on the coast in the small town of Bridge City.  I enjoy hunting and fishing, outdoors, camping, old lantern collecting.  I've been processing my own deer for nearly 25 years along with my hunting buddies, one of which has his on processing side business.  My friend has had some back problems and is going to have to quit for a while till he gets better, so the rest of us have struck out on our own till he gets back on his feet.  As many deer as we have helped our friend process and make sausage, both pan and smoked, he has always done the smoking in his smokehouse, so I am on a learning curve about that part of it now.  He will help us this season till we get our own smokehouse built, so any input ya'll have will be appreciated.  We purchased a LEM 782 grinder and a 433TJ cuber/jerky slicer attachment along with it, so far I love the grinder, it performs much better than I expected.  So, thanks for having me along and looking forward to joining in.

Good morning all!  After I jumped on board with you all, I hit some turbulence  and have not started the smokehouse.  We have continued to process our meats and used our friends smokehouse, which is in another city, that he has graciously allowed us to do.  This week we plan to start in earnest on the smokehouse and hope to be smoking sausage by end of month!!  We are quite excited about the project, it has been a while in starting.  So,  here I am in a relaunch of my membership with all of you and still hope to learn and share as time moves forward.  I am retiring after 40 years in the oil refining business here on the Gulf Coast, and look forward to unencumbered days enjoyed hickory smoking and visiting with you all.

Steve,
Welcome back, from southern Ohio, to the best forum on the internet if you are looking to learn how to BBQ/smoke/brine/cure/inject. Well you get the picture if you can do it to something you put on a plate to eat then someone here has probably done it then smoked it.

Use the search bar at the top of the page and you will be led to the answer to most every question you can think of. If you don't find the answer there then just post it and someone will chime in with their opinion on the subject.

Always remember the only dumb question is the one you don’t ask!!
Keep Smokin!!!

Can someone help me with posting pics from photobucket?  I've read the Q View posting directions a few times and still can't get it.  My problem, it seems, is I don't know what to copy from photobucket to get a URL of the picture, and not the link to the location.  I've tried to copy just the photo but I am still struggling.  If you can direct me as to what to copy from the photobucket site I would sure welcome the help.  Thanks in advance for any help.
