I've jumped back into grilling this past November, as we were hosting a large group for Thanksgiving and I needed to cook 3 large turkeys. My wife was on the page of buying a new stove, with dual ovens, with the notion I'd do the 3rd turkey on our gas grill. I however chose to explore a Big Green Egg, and I was able to convince her that it was a better choice than a new stove, as it offered a whole new option for cooking. God Bless her as she agreed with me so we kept our 20 year old stove, and I bought an XL Big Green Egg. It worked great on Thanksgiving.

I know people have a lot of thoughts and perspectives for BBQ'ing and smokers/grills, for me the BGE fit the bill the best.

Since the purchase I've be having a blast cooking and learning on it. So far I've done a Turkey, rack of lamb, pizzas, pork ribs, beef brisket, mac-n-cheese, and burgers, plus several other items.

Knowing that cooking is more of an Art than a Science, I'm having fun just reading and absorbing all of the ideas and concepts for cooking good things on the BGE. Which had led me to this website and forum, in which I value the postings of those who probably know much more that me.

Welcome to the site Jim.  Congratulations on your new BGE.

Sounds like you were right about needing the BGE more than a new stove.

Good morning and welcome to the forum, from a nice chilly, windy day in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.
