Intro from Northcentral Illinois

My name is Joe, and I'm a smoked meat addict.  I really hope this isn't a 12 step group for BBQ junkies, cuz I don't want to get better.

After a couple of years of lurking around here and admiring the magic that you all have been sharing, I have decided to jump in here and become active.  I have tinkered around with smoking meat on my Weber kettle grill and a cylinder grill with limited success, but I have always wanted to buy a proper smoker.  Well, last week I finally ordered a Dyna-Glo wide body vertical offset smoker.  Reading many of the threads about different options helped me come to this decision.  Although, I would like to someday purchase a Lang or comparable smoker, this option fits my current budget.

I'm looking forward to learning so much more from this great community of smokers of meat as I start down this path.

Im also new to the forum, and just purchased the same smoker this week. I am in the middle of my first pork butt as I speak so far so good.
