Insulatiion: complete tear out or partial?

Hi everyone, I began my build today. I've read where most of you tear out the door insulation and come back with Roxul and a steel plate. The old insulation looks almost like wood fiber. I'm wondering now if I shouldn't go ahead and pull out the tub too and Roxul the whole thing? I don't mind but I'd like to know there will be significant gains for doing it. ...aside from not want the whole thing to catch fire if it is wood cellulose. This is my first build and I"d really like to do it up right. Thanks for your advice in advance.

That stuff was made to withstand cold......  Why would you leave it in.....

Like I said, this is my first build. What is obvious to you is all new to me. Thank You.

The insulation used in "cold producing" appliances is not heat rated...  nor flame retardant...   Roxul covers you on all accounts...   You've got it apart...  don't stop now ....  For a few more bucks and a lot more time, you will have a smoker you can pass on to the grandkids... 

Sorry if I came across short...   I did....   I guess it's the repetitive nature of folks "seemingly" trying to save time and money on a project so involved....

Thanks. When I 'm learning something new, I like to understand why I"m doing something as opposed to just following along behind what "so and so" did. I want it done right. Your explanation makes good sense. I'll be getting the roxul today. Happy Smoking.
