I'm going back and forth whether or not to insulate the firebox on a 250 gallon RF that I'm starting this week. I feel like the pros outweigh the cons regardless of climate. My concern is that I want to put a warming tower on top of the firebox. Is this possible with the firebox insulated? I've read that insulating the bottom and the door of the firebox isn't really necessary but the sides and top are. would I only insulate the sides and leave the top alone to allow the warming tower to get heat?

Good to hear. I know I could always add one on later but I think we're gonna just do it. I want to but my brother is on the fence.
