How do you install this stuff, I'm getting so 1/2" rope for my door but I don't know how to install it? Do I just use self tappers screws or do I glue it on with the fireplace glue? Thanks for your help.

There is a specific adhesive for it. Red Devil is one manf. but whoever made the gasket matl. should carry something. Be sure it's used in a location where fibers won't fall on your food.

The gasket I used came with a tube of adhesive that gets hard like concrete. I ended up using silicon. Just put it on set the gasket and closed the door. Ready to go the next day.

I tried using Grapho-Glass from Rutland to seal the lid of my ECB. There was about 7 to 10 feet of fire resistant rope gasket with a tub of gasket cement. I sanded the lid to help with adhesion - it worked but separated from the lid after 6 or so smokes. Now I simply wedge the gasket into the gaps between the lid and smoker body.

Not exactly what it was intended for but I had to try something. It might work for you, though.

Ok well I'm going to try the silicone and see how it works if not I'll do like Acemakr said.
Thanks Everyone :)

Careful with the silicone. The MDS sheets for those products state that when heated to 300 they give of formaldehyde fumes.

Cant imagine that is good for food???

Yes but on there website for this product it states "no fumes". So I can't imagine they'd lie.
