Hey thanks everyone.  Well heres some info about me incase I can help give to the group.  I went to culinary school after high school, didnt finish but I got what I wanted out of it.  I ran a few steak houses over the years and went back to my old stand by job of puoring concrete, started with my Dad when I was about 8 years old (I think i was mostly in the way).  Now Im a decorative concrete contractor, somewhere in there I spent 15 years in the Carpenters Unikon mostly doing form work.  So I pour concrete countertops, sinks, furnature ect.  Im working on building a a pre-cast pizza oven 40" I.D. for under $1000.00, thats cheap if I can source my materials localy.

Ive had a few smokers in the past and curently have a gas vertical water smoker, but looking at something bigger to get in to competitons BBQ.  I probly have the same stuff as everyone else like turkey fryer a big ass gas grill (with a fridge built in it ;) ) keg-o-rater  (5 taps)  10 gallon all grain brewery, and the desire to build all kinds of stuff that  I want, I mean NEED and drives the wife crazy.  Any one have a thought about a Caja-China pig cooker, thats high on my list to make.

So, Im sure I'll get a lot of info from everyone and hope to be able to share as much back.

Anyone have some info on smoked salt?

First off welcome to SMF there Brian. You'll really like this place for there are a bunch of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking meat. Then if you have any questions you just post them here or you can try in chat for a faster answer. If you are really new to all of this I would recommend that you look up and take the e-course. It is free and it will also give you the basics on smoking. So with all that said now go and get something to smoke.
