in search of snacks...

i have a new MES that im chomping at the bit to use.. im looking for some suggestions for some snack/appitizers for this weekend. im plaaning on bacon wrapped asparagus but want some little one bite wonders but not to many abt lovers in my world.. what are your favorites?? Or least favorites??

ABT's for me are too hot...I am not a jalap lover....but you can use some of the red/yellow/orange sweet snacking peppers and do the same thing....taste is milder and I actually like them.  There is "pig candy"....or "pork shots".

How about a bowl of Smoked Chex-Mix.  Easy to make, and who doesn't like it?

I made up a batch with the ingredients that I like - chex, freetos, pecans, cashews, shoestring potatoes, pepitas, goldfish and peanuts. You can add whatever you want.

Mix it all together and add some liquid (butter, worchesteshire, onion powder, garlic powder, whatever else you like for flavor) and toss it together.  Smoked it in pans with holes on the side @ 225-250 for 2-3 hours (or as smoked as you like - taste it), stirring every 30minutes or so. I always seem to end up with a boatload - but it keeps well for a long time in a sealed container/zip bag
