Im starting put smokeing on my charcoal grill and I need help on doing everything the vents an everything please help me

I have a kingsford bc222 its a reg rectangle grill I no how to set up the bottom bit I need help with the vents

Leave the top vents wide open and control the heat with the bottom air flow. If you're doing an indirect smoke, build the fire on one side and put your meat on the other side. Turn it occasionally to expose all sides to the heat. That's my $0.02. Joe

Ok with that said how do I add charcoal unlit on top of lit charcoal I dont have a chimney

Try a coffee can or tongs. Does your grate have any lift up sides? You need to get a chimney. They come in handy for several things.

I have cast iron grats but can I use like fire starters to start it with

Have you watched this?

Looks to me like a really nice set up, walls a bit thin but it shouldn't bother you.

2 lower & 2 upper vents

adjustable grill

Ash tray

Warming rack

Side shelf

Lots of room in the chamber

Front opening charcoal access

Heat resistant handle

I suggest you open one bottom and one top vent on opposite sides of the smoker, fives you flow thru and you direct the heat and smoke.

I recommend you get an Ash/charcoal shovel. I still use these and couldn't imagine trying to grill/BBQ/smoke without one. It will make reloading that charcoal tray simple.

Thats a good start.

Fire starters? If no chimney, you stack a pyramid of charcoal and use charcoal lighter. Some swear it leave a residual taste, I never have seen it, although I allow my chacoal time to burn it all off before cooking.

You can buy a cheap electric loop that works well

Ya I watched it I dont have a chimney right now so how can I start it with out it

I'm gonna be straight up with ya ... I've tried to use this "grill" a few times for a low and slow smoker.. it just doesn't work... If you look between the lid and the body when lid is closed there is close to a 1/4" gap all the way around...

It works GREAT as a GRILL .. I don't think you could ever stop all the air leaks to be able to control temps. ..

Ok Im going to attempt it tomorrow if heard good an bad things about using a frill bit I have read that people has had good luck smoking on this grill
