So I have been here watching all of you lucky SOB's getting these Prime briskets at Costco and every time I am at mine they dont have any.

Well that all changed tonight.

I had already grabbed one to put in the cart and my wife said hey you wanna get 2? I love that woman.

Please welcome my 2 new members to the freezer family.

Lucky for me and sadly for them their stay in the freezer wont be very long.

Anyways if you have a Costco near you check the meat case for these puppies or ask the meat department if they can get them. They are some of the best looking briskets I have seen.

Thanks for letting me gloat a bit.

Nice! The nearest Costco is 3 hours from me. I am told there is a great Butcher in town so I have no Idea what I will pay but plan to check it out...JJ

Awesome Brian!

I have checked all the Costco's within 100 miles of me & none of them carry them.

I can get choice at WM, but that's as good as it gets.

I am fortunate to have a Costco that stocks USDA prime packers, as you pointed out not all do. I have NEVER had a bad brisket from Costco. May I ask where you are from as the price you grabbed it for is very close to what I got mine for (2.89/lb) here in the People's Republic of Chicagoland.

You will definitely enjoy smoking those. I will be serving the one I smoked the other day this afternoon

Cheers

Mine hasn't had any when I've been there! But they make up for it by having pork bellies!!!! Which is good because we need more bacon!

I am a hour away from mine because of living in the mountains. I love good little butchers. Hopefully yours is great. Let us know when you go in.

The nice thing about brisket is that even the choice ones can come out great.

Im in Northern California about a hour from Reno NV.

You won't be disappointed!  I am fortunate to have two Costco's within 15 minutes of my house and both carry prime briskets.  In fact, this little guy just went on the WSM:

There are 2 in Reno where we go to get to them but neither usually have them. The best I have seen until now was that they had flats at one of them but was like $7/lb. So I was stoked to get these.

This is a nice thing. I saw bellies at our 1 time and decided to wait to get them thinking they were stocking them now. Well 2 weeks later they were gone and haven't had the bellies since. I sure hope the briskets don't go that direction.
