I live in salmon country. Western Washington.I own a propane grill, A barrel smoker and a new Mes 30 without window.Oops. I now like the window option. I have only smoked a few things in the past. But after reading this forum I am having excelent results. No more wasting expensive meats. Albertsons has Rib eye roast for 4.99 lb Any smoking suggestions. I believe it similar to prime rib.

With a rib roast  Keep it Simple   Keep the rub basic, use a mellow smoking wood -  probably no mesquite on this one.   The flavor of the meat is so great you can help it a little bit but it isn't hard to do to much to it.

Good luck,  we are expecting Qview of your Rib Roast!

First off welcome to SMF. The rib eye and prime rib are the same cut of meat. Now I would recommend maybe a simple rub of salt, pepper, garlic and then smoke it. Believe me you will never do it another way from nw on. You'll really like this place for there are a bunch of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking meat. Then if you have any questions you just post them here or yu can try in chat for a faster answer. If you are really new to all of this I would recommend that you look up and take the e-course. It is free and it will also give you the basics on smoking. So with all that said now go and get something to smoke.

Welcome To Your New Addiction
