20" dia 1/2" wall 4' long is that a good start for an ofset smoker? Is the wall thickness to much? Is the diameter too small?
 
I will hold heat, but take longer to get there, we built one out of 1/2" because we had a piece of that size laying around. Cooks great just takes a while to get it up to temp and it's heavy. We try to stick with 1/4" , but sometimes you just have to go with what you got.
