ok so I built a large chest smoker and I need to find a heating element for it and a thermostat. it needs get to at least 285 Fahrenheit.

the dimensions of the chest is 42" wide 48" tall 28" deep with a 5" drawer for the heat source.

anyone know where I can find one or something that will work.
 
I would suggest going to a large independent hardware store whee they sell appliance parts. You can find help there. My local has as many as 30 hanging on the wall to show the differences..  A couple of things to consider is Do you want 120 or a 220 volt element. The 220 uses 1/2 the power of a 120.  How much insulation do you have on the box if any . That will make a big difference. Just some things to think about.  Jted
