Hi all, decided to take a stab at competitive BBQ under the urging of a friend.  We both miss Kansas City BBQ, and his food has always provided the satisfaction for the cravings, and I took up smoking meat myself about 9 years ago since it's far and between finding good BBQ off the street.  So far we haven't faired bad, we're tweaking our taste and consistency, presentation is dead on so we're 33.3% there.

Main reason I joined was to gain some pointers, you can never know too much about this or any subject.

Second, I'm looking for someone to take pity on me in Western Nebraska in May around Memorial Day (yeah, I know it's a busy weekend) for a stick burner or anything really, my father turns 90 and I'd like to cater the event.  Not really wanting to pull my vertical 2500 miles, although it'd be a nice drive this time of year.

And finally, I'm thinking about taking Myron Mixon's class.  Any thoughts from anyone?  And is there anyone else I might take a look at?  I like his presentation, not so sure about his taste and it never hurts to get a few other ideas.

Thanks for having me, look forward to co-mingling in cyberspace about a great pasttime and passion.

:welcome1: Sorry I can't help with the party, I've already agreed to take it to Branched Oak lake that weekend. Hopefully you can find one closer west. Good luck, nothing is better than catering from a good rig. :yahoo:
