Howdy from WA

  1. Howdy,

I live in Richland, WA, however, I hail from Spring, TX.  I have been smoking now for 15 years and have only used off the shelf smokers.  I am currently in the build of a trailer pit with a 500 gallon LP tank and have been surfing the internet for information on how to do it right.  I should say that I searched the internet briefly but found that the best information is found on this site so I have been spending most of my time on here as a guest!

Well, here I am as a member!  I hope to gain a lot of knowledge and to help out where I can.  This seems like a great BBQ community and I am happy to be here.

  2. [IMG]   Good afternoon and welcome to the forum, from a beautiful day here in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

Welcome to the site from an hour east of you. Dave Omak is the man in the smoker build department and he is from a little north of you. PM him any questions you might have. Happy Smoking. Timber. Also there is a Washington smokers group you can join.

  8. Hey Timberjet!  You must be near Walla Walla.  This is definitely a very diverse area with terrain.  I still can't believe I live in the 'Evergreen State' and yet there aren't any evergreens rolling through the Tri-Cities!  I have already been in contact with DaveOmak and received some sound advice from him regarding my build.

    Anyway, Thanks for chimin' in!

I've been to the tri-cities before! My oldest did a region iv soccer tourney in Pasco... It's a really nice area!
  10. That's awesome!  Did they win the tournament?

This is a nice area.  I like that it is not that crowded and has that small town feel.  It is definitely a great place to raise our kids!  I just prefer mountains and trees over sagebrush.  We do live right next to the Columbia river though!

I am sure Kona is much nicer than here.  I have been to Oahu (Waikiki and Pearl Harbor) and Kauai.  Kauai is beautiful!  The coffee plantation there has some great coffee as well!

    Welcome, Rooster!

I'm on the other side of the mountains from you, plenty of trees over here. I would have thought the Richland area could easily pass for Texas?

They made it to the semi finals but lost there. The teams that represent NorCal and SoCal usually win these tourneys! We did beat the team from Alaska 9-0...

The soccer fields there are amazing!
  13. It could pass for west Texas. I am from east Texas where the pine trees are plenty! I was over at Ft. Lewis for 4 years. I love it on the west side, however, I am more of a Wenatchee/Cle Elum sort. If I had my pick I would live up in snoqualmie.
