I've been a subscriber to the newsletter for a year or so and figured it was about time I got little more involved here. I'm fairly new to cooking on a smoker (about a year and a half) and I'm absorbing all the great info on the site.
I actually have two smokers, a charbroil horizontal and a homemade horizontal. The charbroil is a hand me down that needs to be retired. It is being propped up with bricks because one of the legs is rusting away and the rack is being held up with pieces of hangers. It still smokes to good to put to rest. The homemade one is my pride and joy. It is built out of a fairly large air compressor tank and has a nice sized firebox. I can build a good fire and let her go for a while and not have to worry with it. I will try to post pics if I can ever figure it out.
If you are ever traveling through my neck of the woods chances are you will smell smoke. Since I have picked up this new hobby my wife hardly has to cook anymore (I don't think she minds it either).
I'll quit rambling now and sit back and see what I can learn from some of you pros. Thanks for this awesome website that has continued to fuel my new found addiction.
