My name is Eric. Just got a MES 30 electric for Christmas after we had a great deep-frying turkey experiment for Thanksgiving. Wanted to branch out and try other foods and, through an experienced smoker at work, decided to take up some of his advice and got the smoker as noted above.

Been in the 'boro for four years and we haven't been out to too many smokehouses, yet. But, like I mentioned, we are branching out. Got two kids: one will try anything, the other won't eat anything that isn't fried in peanut oil (Publix chicken, anyone?) so that explains the lack of going out.

I am waiting to get some great advice from the guys who have been doing this for years, and maybe I can add a new twist in some of the recipes, too.

Thanks for having me!

Welcome! great advice is at your finger tips. The search button is your friend. In addition be sure to join the MES group for great info on the operation or your smoker!

Welcome to the group Eric, and congrats on that new MES!  You'll find that this is a great place to share ideas on smoking, grilling, etc.  There are plenty of folks here who genuinely enjoy helping one another.  Looking forward to your input, and just ask when you need anything...someone here will surely have the answer.
