Just joined. I just spent an hour reading one thread about a guy welding up a reverse-flow smoker and have learned too much for one night. Great site! Look forward to learning much more. I would go to bed, but, there is | Fire | Smoke | Meat | that need my attention.

It will give you the basics, & even if you are an experienced smoker you may learn something new. Then start asking questions. Good luck & glad to have you aboard. Also for those of you new to smoking,  Get a good Probe Thermometer as we smoke by Temperature NOT TIME.



A good choice for a remote dual probe thermometer is the Maverick ET-732

Thanks for the great welcome! Currently I'm rebuilding the vertical smoker that I have been using for 14 years or so.

I just got it back from having the existing finish baked-off at 900°F and the whole thing grit-blasted down to bare metal. Looking for ideas for re-finishing the inside and outside.
