So here it is:

I'm in upstate New York, originally from down south and I just want to make some good 'Q. I'm long past the age where I can stay up all night tending a pit so it seems to me that the sensible thing to do is to get an electric smoker. I've been reading the electric forum for a while and have picked up quite a bit of the group's wisdom. Awesome resource for folks that are getting their plans together. I think I'm at the point where I need to ask some questions. I'll continue over in the electric pit section........

Pleased to meet you, Gary.  I saw that you're in Tyler.  I moved up here near Saratoga Springs NY from Austin just a couple of years back.  Is that pit in your sig yours?  Looks pretty fancy.  We sure miss all the brisket and sausage that we enjoyed in central TX...
