Smoke it , that was a dumb question.

Anyway there was a post last year. http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/for...+Fried+Chicken

I can't say how good Kroger's fried chicken is and couldn't imagine that you could improve on it. Well, you can.

I did the reverse of the above post and smoked it after being fried.

Good stuff. I have 2 thighs for later for me. Best of both worlds.

Give it a try, fast, and easy and good.

Hmmmm........never thought of that one. I'd probably have to try it under the table, so-to-speak, as my wife has been hinting with the "you smoke everything lately" comments. Funny thing is, she really likes when I do a cold smoke and sear on chops, steaks, chix pieces, etc. and she doesn't know that I smoked it.

Last night, she mentioned that she doesn't want steaks anymore unless I cook it for her...that kinda jacked up my Bbq ego a couple notches.

Anyway, yeah, it may sound weird to some folks, but I like the idea! The crispy battered skin from frying combined with a touch of good smoke? Oh yeah!

Thanks for sharing, Ron!

Tried regular wings one time smoked then sat in sauce overnight then fried and they were amazingly good, didn't even occur to me to batter them and try, but to smoke after battering and frying? That is truly a notch above the best of the rest.
Makes me want to fire up the smoker, run to KFC and get a bucket and toss it on the sNp!
Points for making me add something to the list Ron.

Thanks man for the points. Go to Krogers if you have one.

The chicken is awsome much better than KFC, they do their own rub for every batch, fresh.

Late night dinner.

Worth trying.

Unfortunately we don't have Kroegers here in Jersey, I sure do miss them from other places I've lived.

Maybe I'll have to borrow the little fryer from my brother-in-law and just do my own chicken.
Thanks for the inspiration Ron.
