When I first got my meat grinder I did a rookie mistake and put all the parts in the dishwasher to clean the. Well they went from a nice shiny aluminum to a dark dull color

How can I clean the tarnish off?

I have a 30+ year old hobart. Tarnished bad. Still grinds great.

That tarnish is aluminum's version of rust.... It is now protecting the aluminum under it from further oxidation... It's perfectly safe to use... I've got aluminum pans that went in the dishwasher and now look like grey primer undercoat.... Oh well.... aluminum doesn't like caustic solutions which is what soap is....
