Hookedonq's UDS Build(pic heavy)

  1. Built this probably two years but recently joined here and figured I'd share it with yall so here ya go

    Started out as your basic 55gal drum

    Holes drilled for intakes, therm and handled

    Rails welded in for adjustable racks. Made from flat stock and some 3/8 stainless nuts

    Got the hinges cut out and the legs welded up

    legs and hinges and stack welded on

    Lid latch made outta a harbor freight welding hammer

    Ball valve handle extension

    Removable shelf

    Cleaned up and ready for paint

    fire basket and ash pan

    And finally the finished product and some thin blue smoke

  5. Should produce years of great BBQ. I have two right now. Getiing ready to do a 85 gallon. I love mine. Yours looks good.

    Lid hinges....did you buy them someplace?

    Guessing you used a template of sorts to cut the hinges....would you be interested in sharing??

    Hey man, the post right above yours has a build link at the bottom of his signiture line where he built some nice hinges and it is a video that is well done too.
