Hello. Most of those therms are usually pretty far off. I THINK the therm that Kamado uses in their Big Green Egg are supposed to be pretty good but I have no first hand knowledge. My advice is to buy a Maverick dual probe digital and use the hood therm as decoration. If you are curious, write down how far off your existing hood therm is at certain temps. So that you know if the hood therm says 250, the CC is actually 300 for instance. Just my opinion. Keep Smokin!
