Yeah John Palmer's book is like the bible of brewing. It's a great place to start. A bit techinical for some - but a great book. I 've been brewing for serveral years now and that was the book I started my research with.

Just about to keg a batch of IPA. Gonna force carbonate it and over-indulge on New Years eve while camping! :D
Love home-brewing. In fact, having a brew session at my house in January and I've already decided that the 3-2-1 ribs will be for lunch! Any South Carolinians on the board please check out our homebrew club site:

hey guys i`m new to smoking !!! but i have been brewing for a few yrs now....yesterday i did a 5-gal. batch of a ipa....(can`t smoke this week-end raining yuk).i started with a turkey fry kit ...that is the cheap way to start...u get a burner & 32 qt aluminan pot !!(later u can use it for deep fryin that turkey).........
if u wanna spend the $$$$ go stainless ....aluminan will break down after a wile and give u off flavors making ur beer tinny tasteing !!! since then i hane gone to a 40qt ss mega pot ......i also have a counter flow chiller..... you can check out .....www.northernbrewer.com........also i suggest to check and see your local area for home brew & wine supply shops , they will be very happy to give advice and set u up !!!!
keep on brewing and smoking.... the only way to go !!!!

Charlie -

You'll love kegging! Since I stared kegging I only do a few bottles per batch for test runs and color.

I use the small 3 gallon kegs for experiments (or Pop) and the 5 gallon kegs for yummies! Made a great 1950 style Ballantine clone for New Years it went faster than my IPA or my German Altbier. Guess it got the stamp of approval those are my most requested brews!

Gotta brew some more when I get a chance haven't quite got the smoking thing down good enough to do both at the same time yet. Don't want to spray apple juice in the wort or something.

Can't brew right now my mother in law is sleeping in my fermenting room! LOL She wasn't sure about sleeping near 20 beer kegs but I do have my priorities don't you know! Beside only 4 were full anyway! Sheesh!

Well - she's only here 2 weeks every few years so why should I give up my fementing room? I did put a face on my V Vessal to keep her company!

She's okay she just thinks I need "normal" hobbies like cross stitch or knitting - I hate sewing! She at least aggrees my latest hobbies are "almost" normal Smoking, and Cheese making are at least cooking sort of.
