The date is September 20, 2015 from 10 am - 6 pm on the waterfront in Port Orchard. It's a PNWBA-sanctioned event. I won't be competing or even judging but I've never attended one of these things before. If it's successful it could be become an annual event. No idea what the tasting tickets will cost because the price hasn't been posted yet and I have no idea what they're waiting for.

I sure hope Port Orchard does this right. The town could sure use something like this. It could even lead to a separate Cow Fest!

It's so hard to tell about the weather. We're getting rain off and on here now but this weekend will be sunny and warm. I usually check the weather forecasts for the next 2 weeks to get an idea of what to expect.

This is the first pro BBQ competition in the state I've heard of. But since there's a PNWBA I guess there's quite a few of these in other parts of WA. Don't know where you're coming from but if you do decide to take the ferry you'd want to park your car at your ferry dock, take the ferry to Bremerton, and then take the foot ferry to Port Orchard. I'm guessing there'll be no parking to be had anywhere close after late morning. We had a classic car/motorcycle show/parade thing here a few weeks ago and the main street through down was closed and cars were parked in the hills above downtown.
