Hickory Smoked Pork Picnic w/Qview

Discussion in 'Pork' started by andrew82, Apr 11, 2011.

  1. Greetings to all. I decided to try a Picnic roast that I found on sale this weekend. It turned out really good but also took FOREVER! It was fun though. The picnic tasted slightly different than a BB but was still very good!

    10lb Picnic priced to sell

Slathered with Mustard and scored the skin

Rubbed and fridge bound for 8 hours or so

Filled 4 rows of the AMNS with Hickory dust

Time to go into the MES

At 160 and time to foil after about 9.5 hrs

After about 18 hrs we are there!

     Pulled and ready to serve

The bone slid out clean as can be!!

Looks great, hoping my first one turns out that great this weekend.  Local supermarket has the pork picnics on sale for $.99 per pound, but with a limit of 1 with a $10 purchase, so my wife and I will be checking out seperate.  One way to beat the system.  Good smokin' to all.
