Hello everyone new to smoking and this site. At the moment i've been trying my hand at smoking with my 10+ year old hand me down 22in weber that I recieved for free. Never used charcoal before and thought it was to much hassel but since getting this grill my gas grill is in storage lol. Now making the transition more towards smoking :) I look forward to pouring through the archives and trying different methods out and possibly picking some of your brains!

Howdee Howdee ...... By the looks of those glazed over eyes I can see you have the addiction. There is no cure and the only reprieve is more smoke!

You have started in the right place, tomorrow there will be Guru's here to help you with your acclamation of the site. They will show you the path of enlightenment and help ease that desire for more smoke.

The search engine is total awesome sauce, its just bustin apart at the seams with good info on smoking and those things affected by smoke. It has so much info be specific in your researches, Oh and I suggest that you sneak into profile and update where you set your smoker up. If not you will be continuously be asked because answers around here can be geographically specific...... nice huh? In your searches pay careful attention to tutorials some are amazing with pictures that will make your mouth water.

Oh and pictures, take a bunch we like 'em better than words cause not everyone is like the Guru;s, they have cooling water cut into their keyboards so the don't melt down from the speed. We all enjoy your achievements and you will inspire new ideas with what you show.

Last but definitely not least might I suggest you get a notebook, journal, cardex, whatever you can dedicate completely to your pit. Write down the smokes you do and how you did them, the temps the meat the rubs the brines marinades the injections the foils the.... well you see what I mean, then when you are full as a tic and undoing that top button, log in what was good what was bad what you thought and what you'd like to change the next time. The come here and share the photos and your thoughts. Sit back and enjoy the discussion then pick something to try next time. Cool huh?

Anyway, its late I will start babbling soon if I am not already and just don't notice it.

Smoking is fun, its relaxing, its against the code to stress out! You'll love it!

Enjoy the smoke and welcome to my addiction!
